This is an advanced guide for the Garden of Salvation raid.
This list will comprise of the most used and most effective loadouts for raids, nightfalls, and dungeons for the most consistent one phases or effective damage possible. Each loadout can one phase bosses as long as you build your teams correctly and most of all, just practice.
I will be breaking it down into 2 categories per encounter if possible, sometimes just 1 as the strategies will be the same. There will be “One Phase” and “Efficient” categories, “One Phase” will be what is used for mathematically the most damage/DPS possible to kill a boss/encounter and “Efficient” will just be what is best for a normal run. The Loadout/Subclass section will only be for Efficient as I will go into more detail for One Phase.
I will update this info as time goes on if it gets used and people want it.
We’ll begin with raids as they are the commonly played PvE activities and often the ones where damage matters.
This is also assuming that the mechanics have been explained or the fireteam already has experience in the raid/dungeon.
Garden of Salvation

Garden of Salvation is one of the most looked down upon raids in Destiny, as it really enforces the idea of Motes which are poorly made as a concept and often glitch out, making this raid more troublesome than it needs to be, but I will try to minimize the amount of RNG and try to add a consistent “bad luck protection” strategy.
Follow the Cat
Within GoS speedrunning, calling the Harpy a cat has become a thing, so that’s what it’ll be called here. The goal here is to minimize the amount of spits and to get a clean run.
Begin by splitting off into 2 teams, one of 2 and the other 4. The team of 2 will stay at the entrance as the other 4 will go off into the next room. The goal is to kill everything ASAP with no downtime.
Within the team of 4, have 1 person sit back with a Izanagi‘s and snipe the Cyclops and the 2 Hobgoblins that spawn right at the entrance of the room, then use a super or Well/Shatter skate to the middle of the 2nd room into a group of Goblins and 2 more Hobgoblins. The other 3 will jump down left and begin clearing adds. 2 of those 3 will skip past and begin taking on the Overload. Stun it and kill it ASAP, and move on. You will have roughly 25 seconds to clear the room and Tether, and between 4 people, should have no problems doing so. Coordinate your teams placement and killing every precisely.
This should allow the cat to only spit once, if you’re too slow, it’ll spit a second time. A second spit is fine, but not ideal. The person picking up the first spit should pick up then head down to help the next team.
When tethering the boxes, make sure to only have 3 people Tether at most. The more people tethering the slower the tether goes which means you’re wasting time.
Open the door and continue, doing the same thing. 4 people go into the next room, 2 without debuff stay behind. Clear out the room and proceed to tether. 3rd room is much easier to clear out faster and should have no problems doing so.
Repeat this process until the final door. You will only need to complete the Tether once on the final door to pause the cat. After the first tether, you can either do the other 2 Tethers, or wait about 1 minute and the door will auto-complete itself. This is good for Flawless GoS attempts to decrease the chances of something getting killed by the debuff timer.
Proceed and pick up buffs until encounter is done. If you die while picking up the spit, it doesn’t matter just as long as all 3 were picked up.
Loadouts/Subclasses
Warlock
Well if Well Skating, Dawnblade with Strafe Glide if not. Succession + Trinity Ghoul w/ Catalyst + Eager Edge
Hunter
Stasis for Shatter Skating. Succession + Trinity Ghoul + Eager Edge
Titan
Dunemarchers + Arc. Izanagi’s Burden + Overload + Eager Edge
Baseball
2nd Encounter is often called Baseball, for obvious reasons. There’s not a lot to talk about on this encounter, it’s simple enough and loadouts don’t have to be too picky.
If you’d like the safest option to complete the encounter, use 1 Stasis Osmiomancy Warlock with x3 Firepower, Charge Harvester, and Stacks on Stacks to maintain infinite Bleak Watchers and assign them to Conflux 1. The warlock should kill every add except 1 of the 2 Minotaurs. They must throw a Bleak Watcher on the Minotaur and push him back, this causes the game to stall and allow the runners to spend more time getting ready. Once you see on the bottom left side of your screen “Vex offensive subsides”, proceed to kill the minotaur then Tether for the Enlightenment buff.
Loadouts/Subclasses
Warlock
Well if Well Skating (1 Stasis if Stalling)
Hunter
Stasis if Shatter Skating
Titan
Be a Titan
Arbalest is the main weapon here, it highly excels in this encounter.
RIP Cat
One Phase:
Being able to One Phase this boss has become drastically easier, but depending on loadouts may not be consistent. It is best to have a Divinity user on Eyes team and use a slug shotgun as well.
To begin, the Eyes team must learn how to solo their set of Eyes. Using a Slug shotgun makes this significantly easier. When picking up the spit, allow it to pulse 4 times before picking up as this gives Motes team more time to get their motes and for more time between Eyes. The more spit you pick up, the faster the cat moves, so stalling the spits will save you time.
When breaking the eyes solo, it’s best to aim for the left one first, then right, then top. Using a Slug shotgun is best due to their low zoom, one shots the eyes, and great ammo economy for it. You have roughly about 5-8 seconds to break all 3 eyes, with a bit of practice, you’ll adjust quickly and soloing eyes will be super easy. Make sure you have 105 FoV as well as it’ll be easier to adjust your aim.
As for Gambit team, it is recommended that you do 10-10-10. This will get to damage faster and be safer for everyone as long as you do it quick. The person picking up the last set of 10 should jump on one of the tall pillars in middle and watch for where the Minotaurs spawn and call out which section they are spawning from.
Here’s a very rough draft on the location callouts that should be used.

It took me 30 seconds to make that graph, so hopefully it’s good enough
After the minotaur has been called out, the person doing the set of 10 can go quickly kill it then head down to the Conflux to dunk. If you’re first set of 10 and 2nd set is on their way down, don’t stay to help them, run back to mid and help 3rd set kill their minotaur. Getting the motes collected as fast as possible is highest priority, even if 3rd set gets 5 and first set gets another 5. As long as you’re not doing challenge, it doesn’t matter.
After the 30 motes are banked and damage begins, people on Eyes can regroup and head to damage.
Those using Slug shotguns are responsible for popping all but 1 eye. The last eye should be popped by the person using Divinity, as this allows the Div bubble to proc sooner.
Proceed to cast instant use Supers such as Thundercrash, Celestial Nighthawk Marksman, or Vortex Novabomb, then go in with Izanagi’s + Cataclysmic/Hothead (with a GHorn, but this is only if everyone has a god rolled Hothead). If people land their shots and the boss isn’t janky, this should result in a one phase.
Efficient –
Run the encounter as you normally would. Not much changes in strategy here other than no need for solo eyes or 10-10-10(5-5).
Supers can be adjusted to run Blade Barrage or Gathering Storm with Star Eater Scales.

Sanctified Mind
One Phase:
There’s nothing too special about going for a one phase here, similar to Harpy you’ll want 1 Well then instant pop supers. Do NOT use Slovabomb as it will block your teammates shots.
As far as my knowledge goes, getting a one phase without raid mods is either near impossible if not impossible, so if you don’t have the proper armor/mods for GoS, you might as well move on to the Efficient category.
Moving on, this is assuming that all members of the fireteam have 4 or 5 Enhanced Relay Defender mods. Warlocks and Titans should be using 5 mods, Hunters with 4. This is due to Exotics taking up a slot.
Since this is mostly just doing the raid as normal, no need to complicate it. Do the raid as normal and get to the pre-damage phase. Once Sanctified Mind shows which color, have the Well Warlock move to the opposite side for damage and get ready for damage. Make sure to place the Well near the Conflux, but also make sure you’re far enough away. (With a recent change to Well a few patches ago, Well now has a pillar-like hitbox that will burn the box and trigger it repeatedly, completely destroying your teams damage phase). Place the Well about 2-3 steps away from the Conflux. If the Well Warlock is using Divinity, the moment the Tether for damage links, throw a Fusion grenade with Touch of Flame aspect on the boss and start using Divinity on his chest/head area.
For those DPSing, look below the boss and find the Divinity bubble, it may not always show, but 95% of the time it will be there. The boss has a janky crit hitbox and may not always land Crits even with Div, so shooting the Div bubble will allow consistent crits and the same damage.
Using Izanagi’s + Truthteller/Empty Vessel + Cataclysmic/Taipan should be able to get a consistent one phase with full raid mods.
Efficient
Overall, not much different here other than standard loadouts. This will net you a consistent 2 phase even if you don’t have the best of damage weapons or raid mods.
Instead of using a Well the Warlock will cast a healing rift, and a Titan with Banner Shield will pop their Super and block, giving the team a 40% damage buff. The trade off for 1 less person on damage is worth it, the DPS phase is drastically shorter than normal, so the 40% damage is worth it for the first damage phase. In the second, depending on ammo you may need a Well as most people might be low depending on how many shots everyone has gotten off, except the original Banner Shield as they’ll have max heavy still. If everyone is good on ammo, continue with Banner Shield strat.
You can double tether instead here, but if you aren’t entirely confident on that, this method removes the need for it.
Loadout/Subclasses
Warlock
All Warlocks should be running Well as the other subclasses are practically useless here.
Hunter
Celestial Nighthawk Marksman
Titan
Banner Shield Titan
Kinetic Sniper/Stasis Sniper/Arbalest
Trinity Ghoul/Funnelweb
Taipan/Cataclysmic. Taipan has the advantage here due to a chance at instant reload. Cata excels only in the One Phase category.
